Over 3000 face lifts (combined with neck lifts) were carried out in 2006 representing a 44% increase since the previous year (statistics from BAAPS).

Simon Withey, from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) explains to Maggie Philbin what a face lift involves, and the risks that may be associated with it, such as facial nerve damage.

Simon also outlines the cost, how to find a good clinic and his concerns with having the procedure abroad; aftercare is critical in a cosmetic procedure, and it is important to have someone to turn to even after the operation is over.
